Located just inside the main entrance of York Hospital, the York Hospital Apothecary is a “good neighbor” pharmacy that offers full retail pharmaceutical services. We pride ourselves on providing the old-fashioned, one-on-one attention you just can’t get at big chain pharmacies — taking the time to get to know you and your history. We accept most insurances, have great pricing options, and a pharmacist is always available to answer your questions.
The hospital pharmacy is responsible for dispensing medications and compounding intravenous fluids to hospital patients. We use a computerized dispensing system called Pyxis to assist with the safe delivery of medications. These systems allow for drug interaction checks and allergy checks and help ensure that most medications are directly available to patient care areas.
Need a renewal but want to save a trip to the pharmacy? We offer a convenient online prescription renewal service through RefillRx. Click the link below to get started on their website.
Turnaround for prescription refills is 48 hours. To help expedite prescription requests, we ask that our patients and community members use the automated refill system whenever possible by calling (207) 351-2150, extension 1.
You may also ask the pharmacist to put your prescriptions on automatic refill. After registering, you’ll be notified that your medication is ready for pickup via your preferred method of communication: text, email, or phone.
Our pharmacy team offers a comprehensive, individualized service for patients called Meds to Beds, which involves delivery of medications directly to your room by a pharmacist prior to discharge. The pharmacist will also take the time to tell you about your medication and be available at your bedside to answer questions.
